Our Goals and Objectives

• To create good, high-paying, new jobs in the area.

• To bolster the tax base by creating new tax paying entities.

•To diversify the local economy.

•To utilize a vacant facility in a
positive manner.

• To develop firms that can supply goods and services to local industries that are currently being purchased from companies outside the area, and more importantly, draw dollars into the area by exporting products and services.

• To offer support to local entrepreneurs and businesses to ensure they stay in the area and become successful more quickly and sustain long-term growth.

• Enhance the community's image as a high-tech or center of productivity.

• Create local investmen topportunities in high-tech or center of productivity.

• Fill vacant buildings or improve blighted areas.

•Replace an industry or company that has left the area.

• Capitalize on military base closures and the availability of new buildings.


• Meet with the prospective tenant in an interview format to explain what the incubator has to offer the client. Ask the tenant to expain their business and why they would like admission into the incubator.

• Have the prospective tenant complete an application.

• Review the business plan of the company (if one exists).

• Evaluate the application using the criteria list.

• Offer them entrance if they meet the criteria or explain to them why they were declined admittance into the incubator program.

The Central Louisiana Business Incubator (CLBI) is a 501 (c) 3
not-for-profit coporation formed in Apil, 2001 through the Alexandria Metropolitan Foundation. The business incubator was established to nurture and accelerate the growth of new and emerging companies through an array of business support resources and services. These services include space, management assistance, entrepreneurial development, and counseling services.

 

The CLBI works with entities such as The England Authority, Rapides Finance Authority, Chamber of Commerce, Business League, the hospital and medical community and other economic engines to establish businesses or nurture existing businesses to supply goods and services to these entities.
