The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in special meeting session at its regular meeting place, on Tuesday, September 6, 2007 at 9:00 A.M. There were present the Honorable Charles F. Smith, Jr., Everett C. Hobbs, Roosevelt L. Johnson, Harry B. Silver, Myron K. Lawson and Louis Marshall. Absent was Chuck Fowler and Mayor Jacques Roy. Also present were Chief Operating Officer Kay Michiels, City Attorney Chuck Johnson, Assistant City Attorney Trey Gist and City Clerk Nancy L. Thiels.
The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Everett C. Hobbs, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The first item on the agenda was to consider an Executive Session for an update from the City Attorney and Attorneys Craig Davidson and John Sharp regarding the matter of “City of Alexandria vs. Cleco Corporation, et al”. A motion was made by Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Marshall to go into Executive Session. A roll call vote was taken and the following recorded:
YEAS: Smith, Hobbs, Marshall, Johnson, Lawson, Silver.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Fowler.
The President announced that the City Attorney, Attorneys Davidson, Sharp and Attorney Carol Lexing would join the council members in the Executive Session.
The President adjourned the meeting at this time at 9:20 A.M. to go into Executive Session.
(It was noted for the record that Councilman Fowler was not present for roll call during the meeting, but showed up after the meeting adjourned and therefore was present for the Executive Session.)
BACK INTO SESSION
The President called the meeting back to order at 12:45 P.M. A motion was made by Mr. Marshall and seconded by Mr. Johnson to go back into session. A roll call vote was taken and resulted as follows:
YEAS: Marshall, Johnson, Lawson, Silver, Smith, Hobbs.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Fowler.
A quorum was present for the meeting to reconvene.
At this time, the President asked the Clerk to read into the minutes a list of directives concerning the City of Alexandria vs. Cleco Corporation, et al suit. They are as follows:
1) All special counsel and the City Attorney are directed to attend the status conference with Judge Dee Drell currently set for Tuesday, September 11, 2007;
2) Attorneys John Sharp, Craig Davidson and Bridgett Brown are directed to file documents re-enrolling Attorney Bridgett Brown in the case immediately;
3) Upon her re-enrollment, Attorney Bridgett Brown is directed to dismiss her petition for intervention and sign all necessary documents including but not limited to the standing protective order;
4) Mayor Jacques M. Roy is directed pursuant to Section 3-07 (8) and all other relevant parts of the Charter to cease and desist all involvement in this case.
Following the reading of the above directives, there was no motion or second made and therefore no action was taken.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion properly seconded, the meeting was adjourned.

1
