The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in special meeting session at its regular meeting place, on Tuesday, October 15, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. There were present the Honorable Charles F. Smith, Jr., Everett C. Hobbs, Roosevelt L. Johnson, Harry B. Silver, Myron K. Lawson, Louis Marshall and Chuck Fowler. Also present were Mayor Jacques Roy, City Attorney Chuck Johnson, Assistant City Attorney Trey Gist and City Clerk Nancy L. Thiels.

The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Everett C. Hobbs, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

The first item on the agenda was to consider an Executive Session to hear from the Attorneys representing the Alexandria City Council in the matter of the “Honorable Jacques M. Roy, et al v. Alexandria City Council, et al, Civil Suit No. 229,053. A motion was made by Mr. Marshall and seconded by Mr. Lawson to go into Executive Session. A roll call vote was taken and the following recorded:

YEAS: Marshall, Johnson, Lawson, Smith, Hobbs.
NAYS: Fowler and Silver.
ABSENT: None.

The Clerk announced that there was a quorum present for executive session, therefore the President adjourned the meeting at 3:45 P.M. to go into Executive Session.

BACK INTO SESSION

The President called the meeting back to order at 5:20 P.M. A motion was made by Mr. Lawson and seconded by Mr. Marshall to go back into session. A roll call vote was taken and resulted as follows:

YEAS: Lawson, Silver, Hobbs, Marshall, Fowler, Johnson.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Smith.

A quorum was present for the meeting to reconvene.





There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion made by Mr. Marshall and seconded by Mr. Lawson, the meeting was adjourned.
