Did you now that…
It is unlawful for any person to throw or deposit litter in or upon any street, sidewalk, gutter, drain, or other public place within the city, except in public receptacles, in authorized private receptacles for collection, or in official city sanitary landfills. (Sec 13-7 of the City’s Code of Ordinances)
It is unlawful to sweep, place, or cause or allow to be placed, any litter, grass clippings, debris, etc. in any gutter or drain in the city (Sec 13-9 and Sec 13-11 of the City’s Code of Ordinances)
It is unlawful for any person to throw or deposit litter on any open or vacant private property within the city whether or not owned by such person. (Sec 13-14 of the City’s Code of Ordinances)
It is unlawful for the owner or person in control of any private property not to maintain the premises free of litter at all times. (Sec 13-16 of the City’s Code of Ordinances)
Apartment and single-family residential unit owners shall be responsible for hauling away all trash, clothes, debris, etc. when a unit is vacated and cleaned out due to a move, eviction, or abandonment by the tenant. A fee of $300 per trailer load or partial load thereof will be charged to the owner if the trash, etc. is picked up by the City and no utilities will be turned on at the unit until the charges are paid in full. (Sec 26-95 of the City's Code of Ordinances)
All violators will be prosecuted!
