Service Announcement - December 16th 2024
Please be advised that ATRANS will observe the Christmas and New Years Holidays as follows:
Christmas: Service will stop at 6pm on Tuesday, Dec 24th and resume on Thursday, Dec 26th at 6:10am
New Years: Service will not run on Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 only.
Routes and Detour Details:
DAY SERVICE
Jackson Street will leave the terminal as usual outbound and proceed down Jackson. Inbound will change at Murray to Foisy and proceed under I-49 to Casson Street to 2nd Street to resume route and return to the terminal.
MacArthur Drive will leave the terminal as usual outbound. Inbound will proceed straight on Foisy Street to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
Broadway will leave the terminal as usual outbound but will change at Foisy to I-49 Expressway to Casson Street to 3rd street and resume route. Inbound to the terminal will be usual.
Willow Glenn will leave the terminal as usual outbound but will change at Foisy Street and proceed under I-49 to Casson Street to 3rd Street and resume route. Inbound to the terminal will be usual.
Elliott/Cabrini will not be effected.
Alexandria Mall will leave the terminal and proceed to Jackson Street to 6th Street and resume route. Inbound to the terminal will change at Foisy Street to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
Pineville will leave the terminal as usual outbound. Inbound will change at Jackson Street to Foisy Street to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
England Airpark will leave the terminal and proceed to Jackson Street to Foisy Street to Murray Street and resume regular route. Inbound will change at Foisy to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
NIGHT SERVICE
RT 1 will leave the terminal as usual outbound. Inbound will change at Elliott Street to Foisy Street to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
RT 2 will leave the terminal to Jackson Street to Foisy Street and proceed under I-49 to Casson Street to 3rd Street and resume route. Inbound will be usual.
RT 3 will leave the terminal as usual outbound. Inbound will change at Foisy Street to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
RT 4 will leave the terminal as usual outbound. Inbound will change at Elliott Street to Foisy Street to St James to 2nd Street and proceed to the terminal.
Service Announcement - December 9th 2024
Please be advised that service on the 601 Pineville and RT 4 Night service route will be detouring due to the City of Pineville Christmas Parade beginning and ending on 12/13/2024.
Passengers are encouraged to get to the nearest stops in these areas to access bus service. Please visit: https://www.cityofalexandriala.com/bus-routes-atrans for more information.
Route Detours will begin at 4pm until 10pm:
Outbound – From the Downtown terminal proceed to Jackson Street and make a (L), continue straight to Foisy Street, make a (L) to Pineville Expressway. Travel straight on the expressway to Shamrock/Downtown Pineville exit, take exit to Shamrock Street, make a (L), continue straight to Melrose and make a (R) and resume regular route.
Inbound – Returning to the Downtown terminal, regular route will continue until return from Veterans Hospital. From here, continue on US 71 to US 165. Merge onto US 165 and continue straight across Gillis Long Bridge to Graham Rd at the red light. Make a (L) onto North 3rd Street, continue straight to Monroe Street and make a (R). Continue to Foisy and make a (L), continue to Elliott and make a (L) and continue to the terminal.
Service Announcement - December 3rd 2024
Please be advised that ATRANS will have a road closure detour on RTE 301 Willow Glen Route at Jones Street and 3rd Street/Willow Glen from 9am to 3pm today 12/3/24 according to DOTD for Emergency railroad track repair. The bus will only access Willow Glen Road from the Eddie Williams Avenue side.
Detour route for the bus will be:
Leaving the terminal: Regular to University/Jones and will make a Left on Jones, Left on Broadway, Left on Eddie Williams and Left on Willow Glen Road and resume regular route at Lincoln Road.
Returning to the terminal: Regular to Brown Street, Right onto Willow Glen Road, Right on Eddie Williams, Right on Broadway and Left on 2nd street to the terminal.
Options to access service on RTE 301 Willow Glen are:
- Outbound (leaving) at Jones/University and Lincoln/Willow Glen Rd.
- Inbound (returning) at WG/Brown Street.
- Bethel Apartments area will have to walk to 3rd Street to catch RTE 101 Jackson Street.
- Rapides Primary area will have to walk to Jones/University.
Service Announcement - December 2nd 2024
Please be advised that ATRANS will temporarily move its terminal to the Bolton Avenue Community Center for the Winter Fête Festivities as follows:
Beginning Thursday, Dec 5 service will start from the Bolton Avenue Community center at 6:10am and will continue at this location until regular service resumes at the Downtown terminal on Monday, Dec 9, 2024 at 6:10am.
Bus service will be limited in the downtown area, Passengers needing to arrive at the Community Center can catch buses downtown listed below as these buses are leaving (outbound) or returning (inbound) to the Center:
- Outbound RTE 102 MacArthur, RTE 501 Alex Mall at Medical Center/6th Street.
- Outbound RTE 201 Broadway, RTE 301 Willow Glenn and RTE 701 England at 4th/Elliott near St Francis Xavier Academy.
- Inbound RTE 601 Pineville at 6th/Elliott.

Please be advised that ATRANS will observe the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our schedule will be CLOSURE at 2pm on Wednesday, November 27th and RESUME full service on Friday, November 29th at 6:10am.

Thanksgiving Bus Routes Schedule
Please be advised that ATRANS will observe the Thanksgiving Holiday beginning at 2pm on Wednesday, 11/27/24. Please find other hours below:
- 11/27/24, Day before Thanksgiving, closure at 2pm, no night service
- 11/28/24, Thanksgiving Day Thursday no service
- 11/29/24, Day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) service resumes at 6:10am until 10pm

Please be advised that ATRANS will observe the Veterans Day Holiday. Our schedule will be:
Service is CLOSED on Monday, November 11, 2024 and will RESUME full service on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 6:10am.
Service Announcement
- Please be advised that service on the Elliot/Cabrini route will not run from 6am-10am Saturday 10/19/24 and will resume regular service on Monday, 10/21/24 at 10am until 6pm.Passengers have the following options during the outage:1. Passenger should be out on Wise, Harris and Huffman 10 minutes after the hour to get the Broadway bus as it will pass through their neighborhood earlier than usual.2. Passengers from Bolton to Chester can walk over to Jackson St. to get on that bus to get to the terminal.3. Passengers that need the bus pass Huffman can walk over to Lee St. to access the Alexandria Mall bus.Bus routes for Broadway and Alex Mall from 6am-10pm will change to:* Broadway bus will turn on Wise and run down to Huffman to Harris back to Dallas and get back on route.* Broadway will not run Leo Loop, Alexandria Mall will run the Leo Loop.
- Please be advised that service on the Night Service RT 3 route will not run tonight Saturday 10/12/24. RT 3 is expected to resume normal operation on Monday, 10/14/24 at 6pm. RT 1, 2 and 4 will run as usual.
- Please be advised that service on the Jackson Street/MacArthur Drive/Broadway/Willow Glen/Alexandria Mall/Pineville/England Airpark routes will be detouring due to Demolition activity in the Downtown area beginning 10/7/2024 until 11/30/2024.
- Night Service will follow outbound routes according to the first route serviced. Inbound to the terminal will follow the last route serviced.
- Passengers are encouraged to get to the nearest stops in these areas to access bus service.
Service Announcement Friday October 4, 2024
Please be advised that service on the Jackson Street/Willow Glenn/Broadway routes will be detouring due to Peabody Magnet High Homecoming beginning 10/4/2024.
Night Service RT 2 is expected to run its Saturday schedule of 7pm and 8pm. Detours may be necessary.
Passengers are encouraged to get to the nearest stops in these areas to access bus service.
Routes and Detour times:
- Jackson Street will leave the terminal as usual outbound and proceed down Jackson. Inbound towards the Acadian Village area will change at Thorn Avenue to the I-49 Expressway to Eddie Williams to Willow Glenn to 3rd Street to resume route and return to the terminal. Detour time: 9am til 12pm.
- Willow Glenn will leave the terminal as usual outbound but will change at Foisy to I-49 Expressway to Eddie Williams to Willow Glenn to Lincoln Road to resume regular route. Detour time: 9am til 6pm.
- Broadway will leave the terminal as usual outbound but will change at Foisy to I-49 Expressway to Broadway and resume route. Inbound towards the terminal will change at I-49 Expressway to Casson Street to 2nd street to the terminal. Detour time 9am til 6pm.
The MacArthur Drive and England Authority route will resume regular routing and discontinue detours due to the reopening of the 16th Street Bridge.
The routes will resume as follows:
MacArthur route 102 will not make a Left turn at Ashley/ N 16th but will continue down N 16th street to Hwy 1. All stops along this route will remain active.
England Authority route 701 will not make a Right turn on Odom Street but will continue down Hwy 1.
All stops along this route will remain active.
