Alexandria, La. (January 19, 2025) – Crews from all departments of the Alexandria Utility System are currently preparing for the upcoming Winter Weather Event. Based on current forecasts, the greatest risk appears to be freezing conditions and snow for about 48 hours beginning midnight Monday. Consequently, water pipes that are not properly insulated are at risk of freezing and potentially bursting during this evnet. Alexandria, LA (12/22/2024)The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 2200 block of North MacArthur Drive.At approximately 6:21 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 2211 North MacArthur Drive in response to a structure fire. The first unit arrived on the scene within three minutes of the initial alarm. AFD dispatched three engine companies, a ladder company, a medical unit, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator to the scene. The cause of the fire was determined to be arson.

At approximately 4:39 AM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 3202 Garnett Street in response to a structure fire.
