Council Committee Schedule - 2011-05-03
This is the committee meetings schedule that will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in the City Council Chambers. All Council committee meetings shall begin at p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Community Development Committee at 2:30 p.m.
- Resolution changing the name of Main Street in the downtown area back to its historical name of Second Street between Casson Street and Scott Street.
Finance Committee Meeting at 3:00 p.m. or immediately following
- To discuss and hear from the Administration concerning all division heads receiving a 15% reduction in salary beginning the fiscal year of 2011-2012 until otherwise codified by City Council.
- To discuss and hear from the Administration concerning all mayoral assistants receiving a 15% reduction in salary beginning in the fiscal year of 2011-2012 until otherwise modified by City Council.
Personnel/Insurance Committee at 3:15 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear from Wright and Percy Insurance Company on health insurance rates for City of Alexandria employees.
Public Safety/Transportation Committee at 3:30 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear an update from the Police Chief on the status of the traffic flow at Frank O’Hunter Park.
Economic Development Committee at 4:00 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear an update from the Administration on HIP Initiative hotel plan.
Government Affairs Committee at 4:15 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear report from the Administration concerning the results of an investigation conducted by the State Police or other federal agencies concerning the taser incident that happened the first weekend of February.
Legal Committee Meeting 4:25 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of Amendment #3 of the cooperative endeavor agreement between the State of Louisiana, Louisiana Department of Economic Development, Union Tank Car Company, UTLX Manufacturing, Inc., city of Alexandria and England Economic and industrial Development District.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Professional Agreement between the City and Ballard-CLC, Inc. for the GIS mapping of the city’s storm drainage system.
Utility Committee Meeting 4:35 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the statistics on cut-off.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the increase on deposits.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning businesses with past due accounts and cut-offs.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning time line on cut-off notices.
- To discuss and hear from the Administration concerning brochures/pamphlets to inform citizens of rate increases.
Please have your staff note the change in format for the committee meetings done in compliance with R. S. 42.7. The Council has directed that the City Clerk may advise the public scheduling regarding committee meetings. It is always that the intention of the council to convene committee meeting may indicated otherwise for the convenience of the public. Have appropriate members from your Administration present for discussion.
