This is the committee meetings schedule that will be held on Tuesday May 17, 2011 in the City Council Chambers. All Council committee meetings shall begin at 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Community Development meeting at 3:30 p.m.
- To hear an update from the Administration on the status and update on title abstracts for the Ruston Foundry Site project.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Green’s Park Service for landscape maintenance services for Compton Park.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Yankee Clipper for I-49 Greenbelt maintenance services.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Jeff’s Lawn & Landscape for landscape maintenance services for Rapides Trail.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Yankee Clipper for landscape maintenance services for assorted public facilities.
- To hear an update from the Administration on the Third Street streetscape project.
- To hear an update from the Administration on improvements to Frank O’Hunter Park.
Finance Committee meeting at 4:00 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of not exceeding $5,610,000 of Utilities Revenue Bonds, Series 2011, prescribing the form, terms and conditions of said bonds; designating the date denomination and place of payment of said bonds; providing for the payment thereof in principal and interest; awarding said bonds to the purchaser thereof; authorizing the execution of a Loan and Pledge Agreement and other loan documents with the LA Department of Health and Hospital; providing for the sale and delivery of the bonds to the department; and providing for other matters in connection therewith.
- To hear a report from the Administration on the financial status of the City of Alexandria.
Legal Committee meeting at 4:30 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Music License for local governmental entities with BMI.
- To hear a report concerning House Bill 48 pertaining to City Court.
- To discuss the role of the City Attorney as it relates to the City Council.
