Dear Mayor:
This is the committee meetings schedule that will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in the City Council Chambers. All Council committee meetings shall begin at 2:30 p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Economic Development Committee meeting at 2:30 p.m.
1. To hear from Jon Grafton from the England Airpark on status of economic development jobs and construction at the airpark.
Governmental Affairs Committee at 3:00 p.m. or immediately following
1. To hear from the Chancellor from LSUA concerning community partnership.
Finance Committee meeting at 3:30 p.m. or immediately following
1. To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute various contracts, agreements and other necessary documents between the City, CORE Business Technologies and Heartland Payment Systems for the acceptance of credit cards for utility bill payments.
2. To consider final adoption of an ordinance amending 2011-2012 operating budget adding an Administrative Assistant position in Human Resources division.
3. To consider final adoption of an ordinance amending 2011/2012 operating budget for positions in the Planning Division by deleting a Building Inspector position and adding a Muti-Trades position.
4. To consider final an ordinance amending 2011/2012 capital budget for the Building Improvements project.
Public Safety/Transportation Committee at 4:00 p.m. or immediately following
1. To hear an update from the Administration concerning police overtime.
2. To hear a report from the Administration concerning maintenance for the Police cars.
3. To hear from the Administration to provide a time line for construction of fire Station #2 in Council District 3 and Fire Station #3 in Council District 1.
Public Works/Zoning Committee meeting at 4:15 p.m. or immediately following
1. To hear a report from the Administration on the type of chemicals used around the parks for killing grass.
2. To hear a report from the Administration on repairing sidewalks on Willow Glenn and Jack Street.
Legal Committee Meeting at 4:30 p.m. or immediately following
1. To hear an update from the Administration on legal expenses for the Legal Department.
Please have your staff note the change in format for the committee meetings done in compliance with R. S. 42.7. The Council has directed that the City Clerk may advise the public scheduling regarding committee meetings. It is always that the intention of the council to convene committee meetings at the conclusion of the prior committee meeting unless the chairman of the meeting may indicate otherwise for the convenience of the public. Have appropriate members from your Administration present for discussion.
