Dear Mayor:
This is the committee meetings schedule that will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in the City Council Chambers. All Council committee meetings shall begin at 3:15 p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Finance Committee Meeting at 3:15 p.m.
- To discuss requesting an audit for SPARC projects and an audit for Alexander Fulton Hotel.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning hiring a Finance Director.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning legal fees incurred in the Legal Division.
Utility Committee Meeting at 3:30 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to accept the low bid submitted for boiler tube repairs for Unit #3 west wall & east wall at D. G. Hunter Generating Station.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing Change Order #1 and #2 for rehabilitation of D. G. Hunter Cooling Tower # 4.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance amending and reenacting Section 26-22, 26-60, 26-74 and 27.5-6 of the code of Ordinances relative to tap, meter and socket charges for Water, Gas, Electric and Wastewater utility services; to amend and set the fees for tap, meter and socket charges for water, gas, electric and wastewater utility services; and otherwise to provide with respect thereto.
Legal Committee Meeting at 4:00 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew existing contract with Caplan’s, Inc. for annual uniform bid for Public Safety (police & fire) division.
Public Works/Zoning Committee Meeting at 4:15 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing annexation 1.62 acres located at 2344 North MacArthur Drive for the future site of a new hotel development – Candlewood suites by the Rapides Lodging Partners, LLC.
A & E Committee Meeting at 4:30 p.m. or immediately following
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Concordia LLC to develop a Comprehensive Development Strategy and Unified Development Code under the Alexandria Comprehensive Resiliency Program.
Please have your staff note the change in format for the committee meetings done in compliance with R. S. 42.7. The Council has directed that the City Clerk may advise the public scheduling regarding committee meetings. It is always that the intention of the council to convene committee meetings at the conclusion of the prior committee meeting unless the chairman of the meeting may indicate otherwise for the convenience of the public. Have appropriate members from your Administration present for discussion.
