Dear Mayor:
These are the meetings scheduled to be held on March 24, 2015 in the City Council Chambers. All meetings shall begin at 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Finance and Legal Affairs Committee at 4:00 p.m.
1) To hear an update from the Administration concerning lifting all moratoria regarding the City of Alexandria’s Bingo Halls and expansion of gaming, charitable or for profit, regulating and franchising bingo halls and gaming, charitable or for profit, within the City of Alexandria; reenacting certain strictures with regard to expansion activities; providing overall policy and construction of law; and to provide with respect thereto generally and also by creating, authorizing, and empowering the Division of Planning to provide with reference to Administrative procedures to resolve ambiguities or matters related to points of discretion regarding all gaming within the City of Alexandria consistent with a regulated and limited franchise and other matters with respect thereto.
2) To consider final adoption of an ordinance amending the 2014-2015 operating budget adding four positions to the Electric Production Department.
Public Safety, Works and Transportation Committee at 4:15 p.m. or immediately following
1) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute supplemental agreement No. 4 to the professional services agreement between the City and Pan American Engineers for Culpepper Road Drainage Improvements.
Utility Committee at 4:30 p.m. or immediately following
1) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a professional services agreement with Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix and Hixson for Jones Street aeration, ground storage and pumping facilities.
Community Affairs, Services and Events Committee at 4:45 p.m. or immediately following
1) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a cooperative endeavor agreement with Fit Families for Cenla, Inc.
2) To hear a report from the Administration on the Recreation Tax.
3) To hear a report from the Administration on the appointment of the Recreation Director.
4) To hear a report from Alexandria/Pineville Convention Visitors Bureau on upcoming events in Central Louisiana.
Please have your staff note the change in format for the committee meetings done in the compliance with R.S. 42.7. The scheduling regarding committee meetings it is always that the intention of the Council to convene committee meetings at the conclusion of the prior committee meeting unless the chairman of the meeting may indicate otherwise for the convenience of the public. Have appropriate members from your Administration present for discussion.
