Council Meeting Minutes (Special Session) - 2011-06-14
PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD JUNE 14, 2011.
The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in special meeting session at its regular meeting place, on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 2:15 P.M. in the City Council Chambers.
There were present the Honorable Roosevelt L. Johnson, Chuck Fowler, Harry B. Silver, Jonathan Goins, Jim Villard and Mitzi Gibson. Absent was Ed Larvadain, III. Also present was City Clerk Nancy L. Thiels.
The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Roosevelt L. Johnson, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business.
EXECUTIVE SESSION TO BE HELD PURSUANT TO R.S. 42:6.1 (A)(2) ON THE FOLLOWING ITEM:
The Clerk read the items on the agenda for the Executive Session which are as follows:
1) To hear from the City Attorney to discuss litigation strategy and the status of negotiations regarding the following matters:
a) City of Alexandria v. Cleco Corporation et al #05-1121-A;
b) City of Alexandria v. Capital One #09-8045;
c) Charles Armand et al v. City of Alexandria #174,473;
d) Thomas Davenport v. City of Alexandria #241,368;
e) City of Alexandria v. Annrich et al #230927;
f) Interstate Bakeries v. City of Alexandria #09-04177;
g) Joseph Henry et al v. City of Alexandria et al #234,216;
h) N.S. v. City of Alexandria et al 1:09-CV-00779;
i) In re: Robert Ricks
It was moved by Mr. Fowler and seconded by Ms. Gibson to go into executive session. The following vote was taken and resulted as follows:
YEAS: Fowler, Gibson, Villard, Goins, Silver, Johnson.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Larvadain.
The meeting was called back to order with a motion made by Mr. Silver and seconded by Mr. Villard to come out of executive session. The following vote was taken and resulted as follows:
YEAS: Silver, Johnson, Larvadain, Gibson, Villard, Goins.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Fowler.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned.
