Alexandria Museum of Art proudly welcomes Julie Kane, the 2011-2013 Louisiana Poet Laureate! Julie is Professor of English at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, and her poetry collections include Jazz Funeral (2009); Rhythm & Booze (2003); and Body and Soul (1987). Julie’s poems are found in over 30 anthologies, including Poetry: A Penguin Pocket Anthology and The Book of Irish American Poets from the Eighteenth Century to the Present, and featured on Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, and The Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor. Cavanaugh Lecture Series is supported by Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.
