Smokey Bear's 75th Birthday Party

The Kisatchie National Forest is pleased to partner with the Rapides Parish Library, Atwood’s Bakery, Red River Bank, and Hayes E Daze Ranch to celebrate Smokey Bear’s 75th Birthday. The big celebration will occur on Saturday, September 28, at the Alexandria Forestry Center which is located at 2500 Shreveport Highway, Pineville, LA, across from the Veterans Administration Hospital. The party kicks off at 9:00 a.m. and ends at Noon. Come enjoy free pony rides provided by Hayes E Daze Ranch, free cake from Atwood’s Bakery, free ice cream from Red River Bank, and special activities from the Rapides Parish Library and the USDA Forest Service. There is no admission to this event and everyone is welcome to come and take their picture with Smokey and learn more about Louisiana’s only National Forest, the Kisatchie National Forest. Little Jimmy’s Italian Ices will also be on hand to help celebrate America’s fire prevention icon.
