Update - The City of Alexandria Informs Citizens Regarding Shots Fired, Serious Violence Against Persons and (Related) Property Crime—A Frank Discussion

(Alexandria, Louisiana) UPDATE – On May 16, 2023, at 12:19 A.M., Alexandria Police Department patrol officers responded to 3205 MacArthur Drive, Academy Sporting Goods. Upon arrival, officers located glass breakage indicating forced entry. While searching the business, officerslocated Christopher Green, 22-year-old male of Houston, Texas, and Emmanuel Frank, 18-year-old male of Alexandria, Louisiana. Both subjects were arrested for simple burglary and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Upon further investigation by Alexandria Police Detectives, Green and Frank were linked to attempted burglaries over the weekend at Security Sporting Goods and The Gun Shop. Additionally, the subjects were charged with 2 counts of attempted burglary.

This is an ongoing active investigation.

Since January 1, 2023, the Alexandria Police Department has recovered 46 illegally possessed weapons.
