Suspect Arrested in Jackson Street Fire

 Alexandria, LA (02/25/2025) 

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1400 block of Jackson Street. 

At approximately 12:58 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 1400 Jackson Street in response to a building fire. AFD dispatched three engine companies, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator to the scene. Upon arrival, fire crews observed smoke emanating from the attic area of the structure. The fire was quickly brought under control within ten minutes of their arrival, preventing any further spread and damage to the building. 

Following an investigation at the scene, it was determined that the cause of the fire was intentional. Alexandria Fire Prevention Officers identified and arrested 27-year-old Rayanne Elizabeth Vicknair of Pineville, LA. Vicknair has been booked into Rapides Parish Detention Center 1 and charged with Simple Arson >500.
