Pecan Drive Fire
The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 4200 block of Pecan Drive. At approximately 3:29 AM today, the Alexandria Fire Department (AFD) and Rapides Fire District #2 were dispatched to a structure fire located at 4207 Pecan Drive. In response to the fire, AFD deployed four engine companies, two district chief units, and two fire investigators to the scene. Upon arrival, fire crews observed smoke emanating from the roof and interior areas of the structure. An assessment of the situation was conducted, and firefighting operations commenced immediately. The fire was successfully brought under control within fifty-nine minutes of arrival. The fire resulted in the death of an adult. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
