Ongoing – February 23: Art Exhibition: Luz-Maria Lopez: Mayan Creation Stories, Alexandria Museum of Art, Tue.-Fri. 10a.m.-5p.m., Sat. 10a.m.-4p.m. Explore the roots of the Mayan Prophecy in painted scenes of the Popol Vuh, Sacred Book of the Maya. Epic tales of hero twins and fantastical characters such as Grandmother of Light, Heart of Sky, Plumed Serpent, Crow and Parrot plus a chorus of animals, mudmen, woodmen and human sounds reflect Mayan visions of cosmology.
