Council Meeting Minutes (Special Session) - 2009-08-10

PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD AUGUST 10, 2009.

The Council of the City of Alexandria, Louisiana, met in special meeting session at its regular meeting place, on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. 


There were present the Honorable Chuck Fowler, Ed Larvadain, Jonathan Goins, Harry Silver and Myron K. Lawson. Also present were City Attorney Chuck Johnson, Assistant City Attorney Trey Gist and City Clerk Nancy L. Thiels.

The Council of the City of Alexandria, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said City by the Honorable Myron K. Lawson, who stated that the Council was ready for the transaction of business.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

It was moved by Mr. Fowler and seconded by Mr. Silver to go into Executive Session to participate, as desired, in the meeting of the Commission on Utility Reform and Equity (according to its stated agenda) and hear any reports in open and executive session of that body as presented; and to hear a report from C.U.R.E. regarding strategy or negotiations concerning the “City of Alexandria v. CLECO Corporation, et al.,” Civil Action #05-cv-1121-A, United States District Court, Western District of Louisiana, Alexandria Division. A roll call vote was called for and resulted as follows:

YEAS: Fowler, Larvadain, Goins, Silver, Lawson.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Hobbs and Johnson.

BACK IN SESSION

A motion was made by Mr. Fowler and seconded by Mr. Silver to call this meeting back into session. A roll call vote was called for and resulted as follows:

PRESENT: Fowler, Larvadain, Goins, Silver, Lawson.
ABSENT: Hobbs and Johnson.

There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned.
