This is the committee meetings schedule that will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the City Council Chambers. All Council committee meetings shall begin at 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Public Works/Zoning Committee Meeting at 3:30 p.m.
1. To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing a Special Exception for a Class “B” high and low alcohol content permit for use or consumption off the premises to be issued to Nasry Said Nofal for the location at 1984 Monroe Street.
Finance Committee Meeting at 4:00 p.m. or immediately following
1) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Yankee Clipper for landscape maintenance services for assorted public facilities.
2) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Green’s Park Service for landscape maintenance services for Compton Park.
3) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Yankee Clipper for I-49 Greenbelt maintenance services.
4) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to renew the existing contract with Jeff’s Lawn & Landscape for landscape maintenance services for Rapides Trail.
5) To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Pan American Engineers related to the water system improvements project.
6) To consider final adoption of an ordinance amending 2011-2012 operating budget for positions in the Planning Division.
7) To hear an update from the Administration on sales tax revenues.
Economic Development Committee Meeting at 4:15 p.m or immediately following
1. To hear a report from the Administration on the following questions on SPARC:
a) What projects have been completed, what district was each in, & what did it cost?
b) How much SPARC designated money is left?
c) With the $25MM bond what projects have been completed, in what district & cost of each?
d) How much of the $25MM bond amount left?
e) What projects are left to be done with what's left of the $25MM bond, in what district are they & cost of each?
f) With the $15MM bond what projects have been completed, in what district & cost of each?
g) How much of the $15MM bond amount is left?
h) What projects are left to be done with what's left of the $15MM bond, in what district are they & cost of each?
i) How much of the $16MM municipal capital outlay committed to SPARC has been spent?
j) With the amount left of the $16MM capital outlay money, what projects are planned, in what district is each, & cost of each?
2. To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a cooperative endeavor Agreement with the Alexandria Dixie Softball Association to host the 2011 Dixie Girls Softball State tournament and World Series softball Championship in the City of Alexandria.
Community Development Committee Meeting at 4:30 p.m. or immediately following
1. To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with B. R. Collins Construction, LLC for the development of single-family affordable housing units.
2. To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing supplemental agreement No. 1 for Masonic Drive corridor enhancements, Phase 2 (South Circle to Texas Avenue).
