This is the committee meetings schedule that will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in the City Council Chambers. All Council committee meetings shall begin at 2:30 p.m. unless otherwise designated.
Public Works/Zoning Committee Meeting at 2:30 p.m.
- To discuss and make a recommendation from the City Council to the Administration to attempt to keep the hotel open while pursuing a capable purchaser and submit for proposals and report findings back to the City Council.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning condemning property at 1120 Dallas Street and 1122 Dallas Street.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning Green Oaks and 7th street drainage.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning repairs to Hudson Blvd.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning placing a fence at West Sandy Bayou Park.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning Plantation Drive drainage.
Legal Committee Meeting at 3:00 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the city involvement with the Alexandria Housing Authority.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the legal fees for EMS Lawsuit.
Governmental Affairs Committee Meeting at 3:15 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the policy and procedures for the Government Access Channel.
Economic Development Committee Meeting at 3:30 p.m. or immediately following
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the production of Bonnie and Clyde.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the line item that reflects over the last year the money spent for capital maintenances for the Alexander Fulton Hotel.
- To hear a report from the Administration on SPARC projects that has been completed, in each district and the cost of each projects.
- To hear a report from the Administration on how much SPARC designated money is Left.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the $25 MM bond what projects have been completed, in what district and cost of each.
- To hear a report from the Administration on how much of the $25MM bond is left.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning what projects are left to be done with what’s left of the $25MM bond, in what district are they and cost of each.
- To hear a report from the Administration concerning the $15MM bond what projects have been completed, in what district and cost of each.
- To hear a report from the Administration on how much of the $15MM bond amount is left.
10. To hear a report from the Administration concerning what projects are left to be done with what’s left of the $15MM bond, in what district are they and cost of each.
11. To hear a report from the Administration concerning the $16MM municipal capital outlay committed to SPARC has been spent.
12. To hear a report from the Administration concerning the amount left of the $16MM capital outlay money, what projects are planned, in what district is each, and cost of each projects.
13. To hear a report from the Administration concerning penalties the city incur if the SPARC monies are not spent within the time line.
Finance Committee Meeting at 4:15p.m. or immediately following
- To hear a financial status report from the Administration for the City of Alexandria.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to accept the low bid submitted for 2012 model year vehicles.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance declaring six (6) Harley Davidson motorcycles as surplus and to be traded-in on the purchase of six (6) new model year Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
- To consider final adoption of an ordinance amending the grant agreements funded through the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program from the LA Department of Children and Family Services.
Please have your staff note the change in format for the committee meetings done in compliance with R. S. 42.7. The Council has directed that the City Clerk may advise the public scheduling regarding committee meetings. It is always that the intention of the council to convene committee meetings at the conclusion of the prior committee meeting unless the chairman of the meeting may indicate otherwise for the convenience of the public. Have appropriate members from your Administration present for discussion.
