Neighborhood Community Cleanups Cancelled
Alexandria, La. (July 11, 2019)— Community cleanups scheduled Saturday for the Woodside and South Alexandria Neighborhood Watch areas have been cancelled due to rainfall expected in Alexandria from Tropical Storm Barry, according to SafeAlex Director the Rev. Randy Harris.
Though the cleanups will not take place, neighbors and citizens can help by making sure street drains are clear and that debris is not placed on the streets until the storm passes.
Citizens are cautioned, however, to put their safety first and stay indoors and off the roads, if possible, during the storm.
The cleanups will be rescheduled, Harris said.
