City Receives 2019 Lieutenant Governor’s Beautification Award
Alexandria, La. (Aug. 2, 2019) — The City of Alexandria received a 2019 Lieutenant Governor’s Beautification Award Friday in recognition of the City’s efforts in supporting a clean and green community. The award was presented by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser during a luncheon at the 82nd Annual Louisiana Municipal Association Convention, held at the Monroe Civic Center.
The award was presented on behalf of the Lt. Governor’s Office, Louisiana Municipal Association, Keep America Beautiful and the Louisiana Garden Club Federation. The goal of the joint effort is to facilitate permanent change in the operations and appearance of a community by providing municipalities with necessary resources, best practices, support and education to reduce litter and waste, increase recycling and beautify communities.
