Layon Gray’s Black Angels Over Tuskegee
The Arts Council of Central Louisiana (ACCL) is proud to present Layon Gray’s Black Angels Over Tuskegee. Vibrantly energetic and emotionally captivating, Black Angels Over Tuskegee continues to enlighten and educate Off-Broadway audiences after an extended opening. ACCL is excited to bring the outstanding talents of Peabody High alumnus, Layon Gray, back to his Alexandria roots.
Black Angels Over Tuskegee is one of the longest running productions Off-Broadway! Originally opening in January 2010 for a two-month engagement, the award-winning, historical docudrama is a narrative of six men embarking upon a journey to become the first aviators in the United States Army Air Forces during a tumultuous era of racial segregation and Jim Crow idealism in twentieth century American history. Black Angels Over Tuskegee is inspired by true events and endorsed by the real Tuskegee airmen themselves!
Black Angels Over Tuskegee will be presented on Saturday, September 14th at 7 PM at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center.
WINNER - NAACP Award | WINNER - ADA Award!
