16th Street Fire
The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of 16th Street.
At approximately 11:50 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 100 16th Street in response to a structure fire. The first unit arrived on the scene within two minutes of the initial alarm. AFD dispatched three engine companies, a ladder company, a medical unit, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator to the scene.
During suppression efforts, a deceased adult was discovered in the structure and a firefighter was injured.
The firefighter was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Fire investigators and detectives with both Alexandria Fire and Police Department are working together to determine the cause of the fire and death of the adult.
