Alexandria Fire Department responded to a building fire that occurred on May 19, 2023 on Mason Street

At approximately 12:08 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to the 1800 Block of Mason Street, in reference to a fully involved building fire.  The first unit arrived on the scene within two minutes of the initial alarm time. A full complement of units were on scene within six minutes. AFD dispatched three engine companies, an aerial company, two medical units, one district chiefs, and an investigative unit. Alexandria Police Officers and one State Police Trooper assisted with traffic diversion while suppression crews brought the fire under control within 8 minutes of the first unit arriving. The fire is under investigation at this time and no injuries were reported.
