Americas Best Value Inn Fire

Alexandria, LA (12/01/2024) 

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Americas Best Value Inn. 

At approximately 11:04 AM, the Alexandria Fire Department and Rapides Fire District #2 were dispatched to 1146 MacArthur Drive in response to a structure fire. The first unit arrived on the scene within three minutes of the initial alarm. The fire was brought under control within seven minutes. There were no injuries. AFD dispatched three engine companies, an aerial company, a medical unit, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator to the scene. Additionally, Rapides Parish Fire District #2 dispatched two engine companies and a chief’s unit. The investigation determined the fire to be accidental. The contributing factor in the fire’s cause was determined to be a discarded cigarette.
