CITY OF ALEXANDRIA OPENS WARMING STATION
Alexandria, Louisiana – In response to the forecasted cold weather for the remainder of the week, the City of
Alexandria is adding flexibility to its normal temperature triggers and opening a Warming Station at the Bolton
Avenue Community Center, located at 315 Bolton Avenue. The City is coordinating with other agencies to
monitor additional needs.
The warming station will serve as a refuge for locals in need and will be operational from 6 PM on Wednesday,
February 19, 2025, until Friday, February 21, 2025, coinciding with the expected increase in temperatures.
The facility aims to provide a safe space for individuals seeking shelter from the harsh weather conditions.
It is important to note that the Warming Station is not equipped to accommodate individuals with special
medical needs. Visitors to the facility must be able to care for themselves and be ambulatory. Pets are not
allowed at the facility as the Warming Station is not equipped to provide services for animals.
