City Celebrates Public Service Recognition Week
Alexandria, La. (May 9, 2019)—The City of Alexandria joins government agencies across the state and the nation in celebrating Public Service Recognition Week May 5-11, 2019. Celebrated the first full week in May since 1985, this is a time set aside nationally to honor the men and women who serve as federal, state, parish and local government employees. This week, City of Alexandria employees will be featured on the City of Alexandria – Mayor’s Office Facebook page as they share why they have chosen to work in public service, working daily to make life better for the citizens of Alexandria. “We are so very proud of our city employees for their dedication to public service,” noted Alexandria Mayor Jeffery W. Hall. “These hard working men and women are working every day to benefit the citizens of Alexandria. Some you may see, like the customer service workers in the utility office or the men and women of the Alexandria Police and Fire Departments. Others, you may not see, like the workers who come out after storms to repair power lines or who work behind the scenes to ensure vital city services are provided. Each is very special and we are so proud and grateful to each and every one of them for the service they provide.”
