City Co-Sponsoring STEM Central Louisiana Event May 21
Alexandria, La. (May 10, 2022) — Students in grades K-12 can learn about circuits and electricity at a free STEM Central Louisiana workshop from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the campus of Louisiana State University of Alexandria.
During the program participants will build and test their own stop light. The Department of Defense Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program is being presented by the City of Alexandria, STEM Central Louisiana, the Louisiana Nonprofit and Small Business Assistance Program and Entergy.
“There is a tremendous need for training and education of students in STEM-related fields,” said Interim Community Services Director Marvinette Holly. “We have worked with STEM Central Louisiana in the past and the programs are always fun and educational. This is a great opportunity for local students to learn and develop skills needed for in-demand, high-paying careers.”
Participants may register for the free program, which includes lunch, at www.stemnola.com. Registration deadline is May 18.
