One Person Dies in House Fire Thursday
Alexandria, La., (March 15, 2019) — A house fire today resulted in the death of one person, according to Alexandria Fire Chief Larry King.
The City of Alexandria Fire Department responded at 3:58 a.m. to 2103 Harris St. AFD fire investigators have determined that the fire started in the bedroom.
“This was a tragic event,” said Chief King. “It is important that people remember not to leave candles or cigarettes burning or heaters unattended in their homes. We also urge people to install smoke alarms and replace the batteries annually.”
The person who died has not been identified. Identification is pending on an autopsy and notification of next of kin.
