Request For Water Conservation Until Further Notice

Due to unprecedented weather conditions and increased water consumption Alexandria residents may have lost water service or are experiencing extremely low water pressure. For those who have water service, you are advised to boil your water before many common uses and limit water usage including running dishwashers, washing machines and any other high water usage appliance.

Please continue to conserve water throughout Thursday and until further notice so that storage tanks throughout the distribution system can refill.

Water Restoration: 

The City of Alexandria - Public Works Department continues to work to restore water pressure to its customers. At this time we are working to provide an estimate as to when water pressure will be returned. The lack of consistent power supply to the water wells  is hindering the ability to provide a specific time frame to when the pressure will be restored. Our crews are working diligently day and night to address water issues in the city to help restore water pressure.
