White Street Fire

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1700 block of White Street.

At approximately 11:17 AM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 1721 White Street in response to an apartment building fire. AFD dispatched three engine companies, one district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator to the scene. Upon arrival, light smoke was observed emanating from the attic area, and the building’s occupants were evacuated for safety reasons. The fire was quickly brought under control after identifying its source, an unattended electric heater. No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents affected by the incident.
