Come join us at the Rapides Parish Health Unit for our first annual Trunk or Treat!
All ages are welcome to come in costume for health info, fun and lots of treats.
Our new Regional Medical Director, Dr. Christina Lord, will be available for media inquiries as well as to meet and greet with the community.
For trunk space, please email me jalyn.mcneal@la.gov. Come with a decorated trunk to represent your organization and plenty of candy to give out! Door prizes will be given to the best trunks.

Tales Along the Bayou
Scary tales brought to you from the bayou and beyond. The Kent House hosts the Rapides Parish Library's annual storytelling event which includes musical entertainment from Brian and Terri Kinder, not-so-scary stories by master storyteller Sylvia Yancy Davis, and then get prepared to be scared right out of your socks by scary storyteller OBA William King! Don't miss this family fun evening on the lawn at the Kent House filled with face painting, food vendors and spooky tales. Admission is FREE!

Glass Act Recycling's AMERICA RECYCLES DAY Celebration
JOIN US on November 15th, 2023 as Glass Act Recycling hosts a community celebration for America Recycles DayR (ARD), an annual holiday and nationwide initiative by the Keep America Beautiful organization!
The day-long event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Glass Act’s Recycling Center located at 5215-B Leo Street in Alexandria. Shining light on the local recycling movement, the event will also fulfill ARD’s mission of educating and motivating current and would-be recyclers, aiming to make recycling bigger and better.
Garden District Neighborhood Foundation's Holiday Tour of Homes
JOIN US for this year's Holiday Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This annual event is sponsored by the Garden District Neighborhood Foundation of Alexandria, Louisiana.
About the event: For one beautiful Saturday afternoon, EVERYONE is invited to take a guided tour of FIVE of the Garden District's most unique and historic homes. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each on Eventbrite OR day-of at First United Methodist Church on Jackson Street, which will serve as the jumping off point for tour attendees.
Boo at Bringhurst
Bring the entire family for our first EVER Boo at Bringhurst event! This event is free and food and drinks will be available for purchase. Guaranteed fun for all ages! Activities include a gaming truck, foam machine, inflatable attractions and games, food trucks, music and more!

It's the most SPOOKTACULAR event of the year! Enjoy the sights, sounds, and interactive family fun at Cenla’s "wildest" family-friendly Halloween extravaganza. See all of your favorite zoo animals while you explore the treat trail, enjoy kid-friendly activities, spooktacular displays, entertainment and lots more!
