The Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival will be held on July 22 in air-conditioned Prather Coliseum on the NSU campus and will feature 3 stages of music with Cajun, zydeco, blues, Celtic, and country music, free Cajun and zydeco dance lessons, and many traditional food vendors. The Festival will also include a gumbo cook-off, blacksmithing, KidFest, over 70 crafts persons, a harmonica workshop taught by Ed Huey, and the Louisiana State Fiddle Championship from 1-4 PM.

Thursday, May 11, 2023--Red River Chorale concert. 7:30 P.M., at St. James Episcopal Church. "Music That Molded Us." Music for everyone, including well-known choral gems from the past fifty years, and selections from jazz, musical theater, spirituals, and popular music. Reception afterward. The Red River Chorale presents timeless Psalms in choral music. The program includes Leonard Bernstein's masterpiece, "Chichester Psalms," the evocative "Dorchester Canticles" by Tarik O'Regan, and other beautiful Psalm settings. The orchestration includes organ, piano, harp, and percussion.
The Red River Chorale will return to St. Francis Xavier Cathedral for their annual Christmas concert. The Lessons and Carols performance features Scripture readings and an assortment of beautiful traditional choral works.
"Bridging Generations" is a beautiful concert by Cenla's only auditioned adult chorus. The concert will focus on the universality of sentiments of people from different different countries through generations--even through centurues--as expressed in differing styles of music by a wide variety of composers.
