Power Restoration Update (as of 11:00 AM, 02/18/2021) - Approximately 300 City of Alexandria residents are without power right now. We have restored power to 90 percent of the 3300 residents affected yesterday. Workers will continue power restoration and we will update their progress later today.

Alexandria, La., (Feb. 17, 2021) — Due to electrical losses incurred during the recent winter storm, our Production capabilities have been severely affected and line pressure loss has resulted in the need for a boil water advisory, according to Utility Director Michael Marcotte.Because our main line pressure has dropped below 20 PSI, the water citywide may have been compromised. Alexandria, La. (February 17, 2021) — City of Alexandria workers responded to restore power and clear roads during Winter Storm Viola, the second winter storm to sweep through Alexandria this week. City of Alexandria water customers are asked to conserve water overnight to replenish the city water supply. “I know people are wanting to drip water tonight to prevent freezing pipes,” said Utility System Director Michael Marcotte. “A small drip to keep pipes from freezing is OK, but we need residents to minimize any other use of water overnight to allow the system to refill.
