Alexandria, La. (October 30, 2022) —Alexandria firefighters are investigating an early morning house fire that claimed the life of an Alexandria man in the Martin Park area.
The Alexandria Fire Department received the report of a fire at 5416-A Mansour Avenue at 12:56 a.m. this morning and the first unit arrived four minutes later along with units from Rapides Fire District No. 2. The fire was officially controlled at 1:08 a.m.
The fire is under investigation to determine the cause.

Alexandria, La., (October 18, 2022) — Required repairs to the City of Alexandria Elevated Water Storage System have resulted in the need for a boil water advisory, according to Supt. of Water Operations James Graham.
“All of our water test samples to date have been fine, but out of an abundance of caution we are issuing this boil advisory while we complete maintenance at the top of some of our elevated storage tanks,” Graham explained. “We expect to have the maintenance completed this week. This boil advisory is to remain in effect until otherwise noted.”

The Alexandria Fire Department received the call at 3:44 p.m. today and the first unit arrived five minutes later. The fire was officially controlled at 4:08 p.m. There were no reported injuries. The fire is under investigation to determine the cause.
