The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at the Westgate Shopping Center. At approximately 12:32 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 223 MacArthur Drive in response to smoke emitting from a vacant suite in the Westgate Shopping Center. Firefighters arrived within three minutes. Upon arrival, they discovered severe fire conditions in three suites at the location. The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a fire at Bolton Academy (Bolton High School). At approximately 9:06 AM, the Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched to 2101 Vance Avenue in response to a fire in a classroom. Firefighters arrived within two minutes; upon arrival, they discovered that an electronic device was burning. The fire was extinguished and the device was removed from the school.
